Paint en Plein Air at Keswick Wise & Well this summer. The French term plein air means out of doors and refers to the practice of painting an entire finished picture out of doors. Painting outside, surrounded by the natural world, has a long and storied tradition in Art History, from the Dutch landscapes of the 1600s to the dynamic explorations of color and light in the works of Impressionists like Claude Monet. With a focus on watercolor painting techniques, participants in this class will paint in proximity to our Keswick Garden each week, drawing inspiration from our lovely outdoor spaces and the surrounding plant life. Our Instructor, Prescott, will guide participants through basic watercolor painting styles in this fun summer art offering. This class will take place on our campus in a socially distanced manner.
