This workshop will increase your awareness of healthy eating and understand the risk for malnutrition in older people and those with chronic conditions. You will learn the importance of balanced nutrition throughout the day as it relates to fall prevention and you will be able to identify the key warning signs of malnutrition. You will learn how nutrition affects fall risk, the importance of muscle strength, key nutrients for older people particularly protein and fluids and how to create an action plan to improve nutritional health. This is a MAC, Inc Living Well Center of Excellence and the Maryland Department of Aging, Health Education Program.
