Quilts have been used to commemorate and memorialize people, places, and events. Artist Faith Ringgold brought the story quilt to fine art museums in the 1980s with her depictions of life growing up in Harlem. Her quilts combine painting, quilt piecing, and handwritten words to tell the stories of both her family and the larger themes of American history. The Keswick art community will paint and stitch a Ringgold-inspired quilt to tell our story of community, collaboration, and what’s most important to each of us. Facilitators: Pam Negrin and Ro Sobey-Strick, NDMD Art Therapy interns. This is a Live only event.
